Perennial last place finisher in search engine and Internet aggregation games, Lycos Inc., is now launching an online cinema service that unites a YouTube type of video sharing service with the social-networking strength of MySpace. The big difference in the new Lycos service is that it looks more like a broadcast model. Users can simultaneously share a synchronized video feed and comment on what they are seeing in a related text chat dialogue panel.

Films hosted here break the YouTube 10 minute barrier. They are full-length but tend to be obscure titles at this time. Lycos thinks their new service will have the same appeal to young audiences as massive online adventure games now have.
